MHBA meetings are held February through November on the second Tuesday of the month on University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus. 7-9 pm

February 9 - 495 Hodson Hall:
-  MHBA Officer Introductions
- President Dave Schroeder will fill us in what was covered at the ABF Conference in warm and sunny Florida in January

March 9 - 495 Hodson Hall:
- Dan Piechowski from Henry’s Honey Farm in Redgranite, Wisconsin to tell us about their operation and how much it has changed over the years. Dan is a third generation bee keeper and past president of the Wisconsin Honey producers

April 13 - 335 Borlaug Hall:

May 1 (Saturday) - Honey House: U of M Helper Day. From 10am to 4pm we will be assembling, paint and repair hives.  (See Photos)

May 11 - Honey House: Spring Divide (Starts early at 6 PM) 495 Hodson Hall: Meeting/Pizza After Demo

April 15 - Mpls Public hearing rescinding the restrictions on bee ordinance:
 at the Public Safety and Regulatory Services committee. That committee meets in Room 317 City Council Chambers at 1:00 p.m.

June 9th - Eric Mader, Adjunct Assistant Extension Professor with the University of Minnesota's Department of Entomology and the Xerces Society’s (www.xerces.org) National Pollinator Outreach Coordinator, will be presenting a day-long workshop on native pollinator conservation, June 9, 9 to 4, on the St. Paul campus.

July 14 - 495 Hodson Hall: Roger Olson will present Observation Hives and Russ Johnson with a Presentation on Prep for the MN State Fair

August 11 - State Fair Grounds: Family Picnic, State Fair demonstration training(Ice Cream Info Here!)

- Youth Beekeeping Scholarship Recipients will tell us about their year.
- Winnie Johnson will give a MN State Fair Wrap up

- Dr Marla Spivak will speak about the new bee lab, Updates on CCD, and whatever else she feels is important

May 10 (Saturday) - Honey House: U of M Helper Day. From 10am to 4pm we will be assembling, paint and repair hives. There will be a BBQ during the day to feed people. (See Photos)

o Jessica Burtness, U of M PhD candidate, Fulbright Scholar, will tell us about her 10 months studying Asian honey bees in India.
o Vote on By-laws and Articles of Incorporation Changes.....(The newsletter said we will vote on this at the October meeting. It is the November Meeting.)
